This project was inspired by a book of poems and songs written by my Great-Grandmother Velma (Current) Reaves. Her and my Great-Grandfather, Lloyd Reaves, were farmers and travelers during the great depression. I felt compelled to add music to some of her poems and songs.

Music and stories were a huge part of their lives and the first instrument I played was her piano. I am lucky enough to have many homemade recordings of them playing, talking and telling the old stories. You will hear some of these recordings along with original tunes I’ve written, and a few classic American folk tunes.

Family and friends played a big part in this project. Thank you to everyone that has helped out. It was a real joy playing music, singing and reminiscing with all of you.
